So many back gardens in the UK now have a trampoline, or if you don’t have one, you certainly know someone that does. We all love a good bounce, but did you know you can do so much more than jump up and down? (Although it is a rather handy way to spy on the neighbours).
Trampoline Games You Need To Try!
1. Dodgeball
A favourite game in our garden! Playing dodgeball on your trampoline will largely be dependent on how large your trampoline is. The bigger the better for this one. Make sure you use small tennis ball sized soft balls. Have 2 people on the trampoline and the rest on the ground. The people on the ground must throw the soft balls on the trampoline to ‘tag’ the other participants. Once you’ve been tagged 3 times you swap places with someone on ground level (the last person to tag you is the fairest way).
2. Musical Statues
A fun party game that is even more enjoyable on a trampoline. Have some music playing (by someone not on the trampoline!) Participants jump about, dancing, bouncing etc. When the music is stopped the last person to be still (as they can be!) is out. The last person in is the winner and King/Queen of the statues!
3. Jumping Catch
Using a soft ball (can be tennis ball sized or whatever you have) and as you jump, throw the ball to each other. A straightforward game that is lots of fun.
4. Avoid the Balls
If you have a few small balls (the ones found in soft ball centres work well, or tennis balls), place them on the trampoline. Participants must jump and avoid any ball touching them. When a ball touches you, you lose a life. If you lose 3 lives, you’re out!
5. Trampoline Rain
On a hot day (or at least warm!) this is so much fun. Place a sprinkler or hose with attachment underneath the trampoline and simply bounce around as the water comes along to cool you down!
6. Cloud Watching
I love this one so much. It’s a good excuse to lay back, chill out and watch the clouds do their thing. It also get’s the kids imagination whirling about, which is always a good thing. Simply take it in turns to say what you think a certain cloud looks like. It’s really interesting to see how differently we all see things!
7. Last Man Standing
You need at least 2 people to play this game. The idea here is to all bounce, land on your bottom and then back on your feet again. If you fail to get back on your feet, you’re out. The last person standing is, well the Last Man Standing, and of course the winner.
8. Bouncing Basketball
This is a really fun one if you already own a portable basketball hoop or net. Simply move it next to the trampoline so the hoop is hanging over the netting enclosure and bounce and dunk 🙂
